Palmer delighted to be approached by the legend of the Blues.

Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer is delighted his first season in the Blues’ shirt has matched the achievements of legendary Frank Lampard. And has urged teammate Christopher Nkunku to back his team-mate. After he scored in the 2-1 win over Brighton on Tuesday.

Palmer has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 Premier League games in the 2023-24 season. Most recently with a stunning strike at The Amex. Son that ‘Lamps’ built in 2009-10 UFABET

And with the 22-year-old set to take the lead in the final home game of the season against Bournemouth (May 19). It is more than he could have ever imagined.

He told Chelsea TV.

“That header was perfect! Marc Cucurella seemed to know where I was going. He took one look and the cross came to me. Luckily, I headed it over the keeper and it went in.”

“To score 22 goals in the Premier League is a great achievement. Lampard is one of the best players in Chelsea history, so hopefully I can continue to build on that.”

“This is my first season. But I still have to push my performance further. It must be more difficult next season. But I will put on my best and be ready to go.”

“About Nkunku, everyone knew his quality even before he moved from RB Leipzig,”

“That guy was just unlucky and got injured a lot. But really, if he had been able to get back on his game and stay fit. He would have performed like he did last night.”

“So next season, let’s see how good the real Nkunku is.”

Palmer’s ninth goal of the season is the club’s highest in a single season, joining the previous three by Gianfranco Zola in 1998-99, Didier Drogba 2006-07 and the latest one is Eden Hazard in the 2014-15 season.
