Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is pleased with the performance of Argentina striker Julian Alvarez as he continues to adapt to the football team.
Alvarez joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City for a fee believed to be in the region of €75m. Which could rise to €95m in the future, with high expectations from fans, but early results have been disappointing. UFABET
However, Alvarez has now scored six goals in his last six games for Atleti. Including one in Saturday’s 5-0 win over Real Valladolid.
“He needs time, every player needs time. For Julian, since he started with us. He has gradually adapted to the Atletico way,” Simeone said of Alvarez.
“He comes from a different style in Argentina and a different style at City. And He needs time. Atletico is like this, everyone is adapting slowly and his performances make our team much better.”
The Argentine coach also spoke about winning the last seven games in all competitions: ‘There is still a lot to improve, the team is still getting better and better. We said not long ago that new players need time to adapt. Conor (Gallagher) is playing very well, (Clermont) Lenglet is in a very good moment. Not to mention (Alexander) Sørloth and Julian are at a very good stage. We are waiting for Robin (Le Normand) who will have to compete for places. ‘
